Activate Mideye+

Get started with the Mideye+ app in three simple steps

This guide walks you through Mideye+ app activation in three simple steps. Once activated, your Mideye+ authentication will use push notifications instead of SMS one-time passwords. The activation process requires an active internet connection and the ability to receive one SMS message.

What Do You Need Before You Begin?

  • Download the Mideye+ app from Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iPhone). For more about the app, see the Mideye+ overview.
  • Your device needs an active internet connection during the entire activation process.
  • You need to be able to receive SMS messages on the phone number you are activating.
  • You need access to a service that is protected by Mideye authentication (e.g. a VPN, web portal, or similar).

How Do You Activate Mideye+?

Enter your phone number

Open the Mideye+ app and enter your mobile phone number in international format, for example +46701234567. The app pre-fills your country code based on your device settings. Tap Next to proceed.

Start a Mideye-protected login

The app now asks you to finalize activation by logging in to a service that uses Mideye authentication. Go to your Mideye-protected service (VPN client, web portal, etc.) and start a login as you normally would. This triggers Mideye to send an activation SMS to your phone.

Tap the activation link

You will receive an SMS containing an activation link. Tap the link and choose to open it with the Mideye+ app. The app verifies the link with the Mideye server and completes the activation.

What Happens After Activation?

Once activated, future logins will use the Mideye+ app instead of SMS one-time passwords. Depending on how your organization has configured Mideye, you may authenticate using:

  • Touch Accept — a push notification you approve with a single tap.
  • SMS OTP — a one-time password delivered by SMS (fallback).
  • Offline one-time password — generated in the app when you have no internet or mobile coverage.

What Else Should You Know?

Can I activate Mideye+ on a new phone?

Yes. Download the app on your new device and repeat the three activation steps. Only one Mideye+ app can be active per phone number at a time — activating a new app automatically deactivates the previous one.

What if the activation link does not work?

The activation link is time-limited and can only be used once. If it has expired or fails to verify, restart the process from Step 1 and request a new activation. Make sure your device has an active internet connection when tapping the link.

I see "Mideye+ requires reactivation" — what does this mean?

This message appears if the app's local data has become corrupted (for example after a failed OS update or a restore from backup). You need to activate the app again by following the three steps above.

Do I need internet access during activation?

Yes. An active internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) is required during the entire activation process. The app communicates with the Mideye server to verify your activation link. After activation, the app can generate offline one-time passwords without an internet connection.

I did not receive the activation SMS

Make sure you entered your phone number correctly in international format. The SMS is sent when you start a Mideye-protected login in Step 2 — if you skip that step, no SMS will arrive. If the problem persists, check with your administrator that your phone number is registered in the Mideye system and that SMS delivery is working for your carrier.
