De-activate Mideye+

Switch back to regular SMS-OTP authentication

There are two ways to deactivate Mideye+: from within the app itself, or via the self-service deactivation portal. Once deactivated, your future logins will use standard SMS one-time passwords instead of the Mideye+ app.

How Do You Deactivate from the App?

If you still have access to a working Mideye+ app on your phone, this is the quickest method.

1

Open Settings

Open the Mideye+ app and tap the Settings icon (gear icon).

2

Tap Deactivate

Scroll to the Deactivate Mideye+ section and tap the Deactivate button. Confirm when prompted. The app requires an internet connection to complete the deactivation.

How Do You Deactivate via the Portal?

Use this method if you no longer have access to the app — for example if you have lost your phone, factory reset it, or cannot open the app.

1

Start a Mideye-protected login

Go to a service that uses Mideye authentication (VPN, web portal, etc.) and initiate a login. This sends an SMS to your phone and proves you control the number. This must happen within five minutes of the next step.

2

Open the deactivation portal

Go to deactivate.mideye.com and enter your mobile phone number in international format (e.g. +46701234567).

3

Verify with SMS OTP

You will receive an SMS with a verification code. Enter the code on the deactivation portal to confirm and complete the deactivation.

Once deactivated, all future logins will use standard SMS one-time passwords. You can re-activate Mideye+ at any time by going through the activation process again.

What Else Should You Know?

Why do I need to login before using the deactivation portal?

The portal requires proof that you control the phone number. When you start a Mideye-protected login, the system records that an SMS was recently delivered to your number. The deactivation portal checks this and only proceeds if an SMS was sent to you within the last five minutes.

The portal says I must authenticate on VPN first

This means the system has not detected a recent SMS delivery to your number. Make sure you initiate a login to a Mideye-protected service before opening the deactivation portal, and complete both steps within five minutes.

Deactivation from the app failed — what should I do?

The app needs an internet connection and a valid internal auth token to deactivate remotely. If deactivation fails, the app will offer to perform a local reset instead. A local reset removes the app's activation data from your device. You can also use the deactivation portal as an alternative.

I lost my phone — how do I deactivate?

If you have a new phone with the same number and can still receive SMS, use the deactivation portal (Option B above). If you cannot receive SMS at all, contact your IT administrator or Mideye support to have your Mideye+ registration revoked.

Can I re-activate Mideye+ after deactivating?

Yes. Deactivation simply switches your authentication method back to SMS-OTP. You can go through the activation process again at any time to re-enable Mideye+ on the same or a different device.
